Detailed 3D Modeling and Groundwater Investigation (NY, PA)

Supporting the evaluation of industrial sites located in New York and Pennsylvania, Destiny provided data conversion, data integration, 3D interpolation, and visualization services examining VOCs in groundwater.

For engineers and hydrologists tasked to delineate extent and concern areas, Destiny’s detailed models made it easier to quickly and effectively assimilate the situation, extent, and concern areas, to recognize and evaluate key relationships, and to present the situation, using the model and other data, to company stakeholders, managers, lawyers, and regulators.

Services included loading and integrating borehole geology, groundwater chemistry, sample locations, building footprints, property boundaries, and other data into the GIS database and modeling environment; and interpolating the data using 3D kriging, inverse distance weighting, and other cell-based processes to create the 3D model. We then produced a series of 3D snapshots, video clips, and interactive on-screen demonstrations matched to the needs of various audiences and formats. Introducing the models and graphics to a technical team and stakeholders working from several locations, Destiny initiated and hosted a web-based meeting designed to facilitate collaborative discussion.

Destiny’s models facilitated a faster and more effective project launch. As a result, Destiny was awarded additional work from the site owner, and from one of the engineering firms involved in the projects.
