| URS / Denver Water / Army Corp of Engineers
URS is conducting the study and preparing the EIS for Denver Water and the US Army Corp of Engineers. The study analyzes the proposed expansion of the Moffat Collection System for potential environmental impacts to wetlands, flood plains, threatened and endangered species, cultural resources, and land use and ownership. Supporting the design and development of a GIS database, Destiny worked closely with URS and Denver Water to identify, acquire, and organize available GIS and other data critical to the study. Having established the basic data and structures, the team is currently preparing for the 2005 field season and is identifying, organizing, and optimizing plans for GIS and GPS data capture in support of the various resource teams, specialists, and study initiatives. This includes facilitating and coordinating field data capture, data loading, and analysis which will include detailed field inventories, observations, measurements, locations (captured using GPS and field map mark-up), field notes, and digital photos. Data will be loaded and integrated into a geodatabase for additional analysis and visualization related to previously collected basemap features.
